Measurement Of Vibration
Periodical measurement of vibration is vital for the maintenance of rotating machines. Although the amplitude of vibration is, of course, important, the causes of sizable changes in vibration must also be investigated to prevent accidents. Electric vibrometers are generally available and permit easy measurement of vibration amplitude.
Allowable Values Of Vibration
Measurements are to-be made of the vertical, horizontal and axial amplitudes of vibrations at the bearing and frame. Fig. 1-1 shows values of vibration currently employed by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation.
